Moore plays for Charlton amid Birmingham City interest

Striker Montell Moore, released by Brentford on Monday, is training with Championship rivals Charlton Athletic.

The 20-year-old played 80 minutes for the Addicks’ development squad in their 2-1 win against Crystal Palace, hours after his contract at Griffin Park had been cancelled.[phone][/phone]

Sky Sports suggested Moore was close to signing for Birmingham City, who had taken him on trial earlier this month.

But Moore, who made just one appearance in a Brentford shirt, had come on as a substitute for Charlton in their Kent Senior Cup win at Bromley last week and was given another chance to impress against Palace.
