Half-time: Wycombe 0 QPR 1

Jamie Mackie’s goal meant QPR led at the end of a first half they dominated.

Mackie scored on the half-hour mark, firing home from 10 yards out after latching on to Adel Taarabt’s clever pass.

He had earlier been denied by former R’s keeper Nikki Bull, who did well to stop Mackie’s header from Armand Traore’s left-wing cross.

Bull also saved with his legs to keep out an effort from Djibril Cisse, who later sent a volley well over the bar.

Rangers’ starting line-up included summer signings Rob Green, Fabio and Ji-sung Park while Andy Johnson is among the substitutes, but Samba Diakite and Junior Hoilett were left out of the squad.

Diakite has been rested as he has featured for most of the pre-season campaign so far, while Hoilett has barely trained since his recent move from Blackburn.

Green was a spectator for most of the half but was called into action three minutes before the break when he dived to block Lee Angol’s shot.

Kieron Dyer, out for almost a year through injury, is expected to feature in the second half.
