Half-time: Blackburn Rovers 1 Fulham 0

Fulham trailed at the break to a Ben Marshall penalty after a flat first-half performance.

The Whites were the better side in the opening 10 minutes and centre-back Michael Madl had two chances from corners – he first saw a goalbound flick cleared off the line and then fired past the post.

But Blackburn were given the chance to take the lead on 15 minutes when Marshall’s strong run from right-back drew a foul from Luke Garbutt in the box.

Marshall converted the spot-kick himself, sending Andy Lonergan the wrong way, and Blackburn controlled the rest of the half.

Lonergan fielded a Danny Graham shot and Chris Brown’s header, while Fulham had spells of possession but were unable to hurt the Blackburn defence.

Garbutt was taken off on 37 minutes, with Alex Kacaniklic replacing him at left-wing in the same 3-5-2 formation that served Fulham so well at QPR on Saturday.
