Groves is lined up for September return

George Groves is being lined up for a return to the ring in September.

The Hammersmith man’s promoter Kalle Sauerland wants him to fight in London on September 13 or a week later.

Sauerland signed Groves before his knockout defeat by Carl Froch in their world super-middleweight title rematch at Wembley last month.

Froch successfully defended his IBF and WBA titles against Groves for a second time, having won a controversial fight when they met in November.

WBC champion Sakio Bika has been touted as a possible opponent for Groves’ third attempt to land a world title.

Arthur Abraham, who holds the WBO belt and is also promoted by Sauerland, could be another option.
