Former Chelsea defender expresses doubts about Benitez
Ex-Chelsea defender Michael Duberry has expressed doubt that Rafael Benitez is the right man for the club in the long term.
Benitez is the favourite to take over at Stamford Bridge despite many Chelsea fans being unhappy at the prospect of him being appointed.
And Duberry, a former Blues team-mate of sacked manager Roberto Di Matteo, told Sky Sports News the Spaniard may have a point to prove after his Liverpool reign ended badly.
“I’m not too sure. He’s done well at Liverpool but at the end it tailed off. It might be temporary, but long term I’m not too sure.” said Duberry.
“Short-term, maybe. He might come with new ideas and give a short-term boost. We’ll see.”
