Forest were ‘naive’ – Freedman

Nottingham Forest boss Dougie Freedman called his side “naive” after they lost 2-1 at 10-man Brentford.

Having squandered a host of first-half chances, Forest fell behind on the hour mark but equalised shortly after Bees defender Harlee Dean had been sent off.

However, they failed to make the most of their man advantage and substitute Philipp Hofmann grabbed the winner deep into injury time.

Freedman said: “I thought for 60 minutes we were in full control of the game.

“I couldn’t believe why we were not winning the game at half-time.

“I thought we played with a naivety and we created less in the 20 minutes they were down to 10 men then we did in the rest of the match.

“Brentford dug in, stayed in the game and had a good 10-minute spell and took advantage of it.”
