Reading v QPR: Fer back, Austin on bench

QPR midfielder Leroy Fer

Leroy Fer returns to the starting line-up for QPR’s game at Reading, where Charlie Austin is on the substitutes’ bench again.

The absence of Austin, who has been nursing a calf problem, means Rangers again start without a recognised striker.

Fer, available after a suspension, comes in for Yun Suk-Young. Youngster Michael Petrasso keeps his place.

Reading, meanwhile, are without captain Paul McShane, who was involved in a clash of heads against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

Garath McCleary has been passed fit following a hamstring problem and Anton Ferdinand plays against his former club.

Reading: Al-Habsi, Gunter, Taylor, Hector, Ferdinand, Norwood, Williams, Fernandez, McCleary, Vydra, Blackman.
Subs: Bond, Robson-Kanu, Sa, Obita, Hurtado, John, Cooper.

QPR: Green, Perch, Onuoha, Hall, Konchesky, Petrasso, Sandro, Faurlin, Phillips, Hoilett, Fer.
Subs: Smithies, Angella, Chery, Henry, Luongo, Tozser, Austin.
