Chelsea Under-21s draw at Old Trafford, defeats for Fulham and QPR

Kasey Palmer scored as Chelsea youngster’s drew 1-1 with Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Under-21 Premier League.

England internationals Ashley Young and Phil Jones were included in a strong United line-up, but the visitors more than held their own.

Palmer put them ahead with a first-half free-kick and Reece Mitchell, Tammy Abraham (pictured) and Ola Aina all went close to scoring for Chelsea.

A deflected shot from skipper James Weir brought United level in the second half and Young missed a late chance to put them ahead.

Meanwhile, Fulham’s Under-21s lost 1-0 to Derby County at Craven Cottage, where Offrande Zanzala scored the only goal.

And QPR’s Under-21 also lost 1-0, against Bolton at the Macron Stadium. George Newell scored the hosts’ winner.
