Chelsea legend Frank Lampard says Eden Hazard’s display against Qarabag underlined his world-class ability.

Hazard scored his sixth goal in seven appearances for the Blues as they coasted into the Champions League knockout stages with a thumping 4-0 win over Qarabag.

The Belgian also teed up the second goal for Willian with an exquisite flick.

Speaking on BT Sport, Chelsea’s all-time leading scorer Lampard, who netted 211 goals for the Blues, said: “World class for me is affecting games at Champions League and international level over a period of time and Hazard is certainly in that bracket.”

Fellow pundits Rio Ferdinand and Steven Gerrard agreed.

“He has everything,” said ex-Liverpool and England midfielder Gerrard.

“He can score goals, he can can create goals, he has vision speed and is direct. His awareness for the little back-heel was sensational; that was world class right there.”

Former Manchester United and England defender Ferdinand added: “Hazard is definitely world class.

“He is the reason Chelsea won the league and if they are going to go any deeper in the competition he will have to play a huge role and do what he did tonight.”
