Cahill defiant after Chelsea defeat

Gary Cahill insisted Chelsea will have no problems bouncing back from their 2-0 defeat at Tottenham.

Chelsea were denied a record-breaking 14th consecutive Premier League win, with Dele Alli scoring both goals in the derby at White Hart Lane.

But Cahill’s side remain top of the table and the Blues defender has no doubt their morale will remain high.

Cahill told Sky Sports: “It won’t affect us mentally. We’ve got strong personalities in that dressing room and one loss in 14 is not going to affect us. We go again.”

However, the England international admitted that Chelsea were well short of their best.

“I don’t think we were at the levels we’ve been at. We fell short of that,” he said.

“On the positive side we won 13 in a row – the joint record – and should be proud of that. But today we’re disappointed.”

More reaction from White Hart Lane to follow later.
