Chelsea youngsters to face Arsenal after Oxlade-Chamberlain returns in Under-21 Cup win at Fulham

Arsenal will play Chelsea in the quarter-finals of the Under-21 Premier League Cup after beating Fulham 1-0.

Thomas Eisfeld’s second-half goal was decisive in an entertaining game at Fulham’s Motspur Park training ground, where the Gunners’ England star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain returned to action after injury.

Jesse Joronen produced excellent saves to deny Oxlade-Chamberlain – who went off three minutes after the interval – and Benik Afobe.

But Fulham’s young Finnish keeper was unable to prevent Eisfeld firing into the top corner following a goalmouth scramble just before the hour mark.

Arsenal continued to have the upper hand and Nico Yennaris had a goal disallowed for offside before Jorenen pulled off another fine stop, this time denying Carl Jenkinson.

Fulham almost grabbed an injury-time equaliser when Dino Islamovic’s header hit the bar.
