Chelsea prospect continues scoring run

Patrick Bamford again demonstrated his potential by scoring another goal for Chelsea’s reserves as they drew 2-2 at Wigan this afternoon.

Within a minute of the home team going ahead, Bamford set up Adam Phillip to level from close range.

Teenage striker Bamford, a January signing from Nottingham Forest, then put the young Blues side ahead three minutes after half-time.

It was a cool finish by the 18-year-old and his fourth goal in six matches for the second string.

Keeper James Russell produced two fine saves before Wigan’s pressure finally told and they netted a late equaliser.
