Chelsea odds-on to beat QPR

All eyes will be on Loftus Road for Saturday’s showdown between Rangers and Chelsea.

Unless you’ve been living on a different planet for the last few months, you’ll be well aware of the furore surrounding Anton Ferdinand and John Terry resulting from when the teams last met earlier in the season.

At the time of writing we are going to have a market on whether both players shake hands before the start of the game, but those prices are subject to review.

QPR were worthy winners at home to Wigan last weekend and Mark Hughes will have them fired up for the visit of Chelsea who are our 9/2 favourites at BetVictor to win the FA Cup for the third time in four years.

Chelsea’s goalless draw at Norwich was the first ever Premier League game with no fouls in the first half, but you can have any odds you want that that statistic is not repeated in what is sure to be a white-hot atmosphere.

Despite their lack of goals, are Chelsea are 8/13 to win this weekend with QPR (66s for the Trophy) 9/2 and you can back the tie to go to a replay at 13/5 – the 8/13 is far too short and I think the R’s will get a draw.

It could be Torres’ day.

The last three encounters between the sides in league and cup have ended 1-0 and the price for Chelsea to win by the only goal is 11/2 while QPR are 12/1 to win by that scoreline. Under 1.5 goals in the match is 13/5.

It seems only a matter of time before Fernando Torres finds the net for Chelsea and his recent performances merit the short price of 11/10 anytime and 15/4 to score first, but for all his effort and link up play he remains out of sorts in front of goal.

Fulham travel to Goodison Park for a Friday-night tie against Everton.

The Whites haven’t beaten the Merseysiders since September 2009 and were on the receiving end of a 3-1 home defeat back in October.

Fulham (40s for the Cup) were dreadful at Ewood Park on their last away trip but this is a game they really ought to get something from with the Toffees having terrible injury problems. Everton are a shade of odds on at 20/21 with BetVictor with the visitors 14/5 and the draw at 9/4.

If Martin Jol’s side are brave and carry the game to the opposition I can see them winning this at the first time of asking.  Under 2.5 goals in the game can be backed at 4/6.
