Chelsea ‘lining up Juventus defender’

Chelsea are lining up Juventus defender Stephan Lichtsteiner, according to the Daily Mirror.

It is claimed they have turned their attention to the right-back after failing to agree a deal with Marseille for Cesar Azpilicueta, who apparently remains their first-choice signing.

The Mirror also believe Chelsea have hit a wall in their bid to sign Victor Moses from Wigan.

The Daily Mail say Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku is wanted on loan by West Brom and that Middlesbrough are hoping to finalise the loan signing of young Blues midfielder Josh McEachran.

A number of papers report that Chelsea captain John Terry will be left out of the England squad to face Italy in a friendly in Berne next Wednesday.

The Independent say his club team-mate Gary Cahill will be given a chance, while The Guardian say Chelsea’s Ryan Bertrand will also be involved.

Norwich keeper John Ruddy will be called up, with QPR’s Rob Green missing out, The Sun predict

The Sun also say QPR face competition from Atletico Madrid as well as Arsenal in the race to sign Celtic playmaker Ki Sung-Yeung.

And the Mail reckon Blackpool boss Ian Holloway, who is keen to take DJ Campbell back to Bloomfield Road, has agreed a £1m fee with QPR for the out-of-favour striker.
