Chelsea boss Conte does not fear the sack

Boss Antonio Conte said Chelsea’s “value” will be reflected by their league position at the end of the season and he is not concerned about being sacked if the Blues fail to qualify for the Champions League.

The 3-1 home defeat against Tottenham saw Chelsea slip eight points adrift of Spurs and the top four.

But the Italian, who won the Premier League title in his first season, said: “I am not worried. The club has to take the decision.

“I am giving – and the players are giving – everything this season. But this season is going in this way and now we have to try to do our best until the end.

“We must be realistic to understand that the teams ahead of us are going very fast. Today we had a great chance to close the gap but we lost the chance. We have to try to do our best in these seven games to do everything to make the Champions League.

“The players are working very hard to try to have a good season but at the end we have to understand our value is this.

“We created a lot of problems for Tottenham. The difference was Tottenham was very clinical. We are creating a lot of chances to score.

“Today it was the same. We created many chances but scored only one goal.”
