Cardiff City v Fulham line-ups: Bettinelli back, Whites youngster starts, debut for Cardiff man

Fulham have handed given a first start of the season to goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli and selected 16-year-old Ryan Sessegnon at left-back for their FA Cup third-round clash at Cardiff.

Bettinelli, the Whites’ first-choice keeper last season, has been supplanted by summer arrival David Button but gets his chance in the 11.30am kick-off.

Youngster Sessegnon, who has made nine appearances in the Championship, is chosen ahead of former Cardiff player Scott Malone.

Striker Chris Martin, who is keen to return to parent club Derby, is again not involved in the squad.

Fulham have centre-backs Tomas Kalas and Michael Madl out injured and wingers Floyd Ayite and Neeskens Kebano away at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Cardiff have handed a debut to new signing Greg Halford, while ex-Fulham man Jazz Richards plays against his old club.

However former QPR winger Junior Hoilett is not in the squad, with Neil Warnock also recalling Emyr Huws, Anthony Pilkington and Rickie Lambert.
