Campbell playing for his QPR future today

DJ Campbell has been told today’s FA Cup clash with West Brom is a great chance to secure his future at QPR.

The striker scored 10 goals during a loan spell at Ipswich, whose manager Mick McCarthy wants to sign him on a permanent basis this month.

Several other Championship clubs have expressed an interest in Campbell, but Rangers boss Harry Rednapp wants to see him in action before deciding whether to let him leave Loftus Road.

He will feature in this afternoon’s game – his first appearance for the R’s this season – having been frozen out under Redknapp’s predecessor Mark Hughes.

And Redknapp said: “I’ve only liked him when I’ve seen him before. Hopefully he can come in and do it for us.

“He works hard, scores goals and you can tell he’s a good lad. We’ve got a month to make our mind up.”
