Bertrand linked with North East move as Blues are said to want Rovers man

Sunderland are interested in signing Ryan Bertrand from Chelsea, who are competing with Newcastle for Blackburn left-back Martin Olsson, according to reports.

The People claim that Sunderland boss Martin O’Neill has been tracking Bertrand, whose first-team chances have been limited by Ashley Cole.

And the Sunday Mirror suggest that Olsson, who has been linked with Newcastle, has been identified by Chelsea as Cole’s long-term replacement.

Chelsea are said to be willing to spend £7m on the Swede, who has been tipped to leave Blackburn following their relegation.

Real Madrid have again been linked with Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic, with The Sun on Sunday suggesting the Spanish club will bid £15m for him.

The People also say Atletico Madrid’s Colombian striker Falcao is now Chelsea’s top transfer target and that Everton will try to sign Jamie Mackie if QPR are relegated today.

Mackie is said to be seen as ideal for David Moyes’ style of play, with the Goodison Park boss considering a move for the Scotland international.
