Ealing sign Irish centre Gibbons
Ealing Trailfinders have boosted their back-line options with the signing of Irish centre Fionn Gibbons from Munster.
The 22-year-old, who can also play on the wing, moves to the west London club having previously enjoyed international success at youth level.
Gibbons was part of the Ireland Under-20s squad that secured a Grand Slam in 2022, scoring three tries in four appearances during that Six Nations campaign.
“I’m delighted to be joining Ealing Trailfinders,” Gibbons said.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity to work in a first-class environment and I can’t wait to get started now with the team and coaches.”
Ealing Trailfinders director of rugby Ben Ward believes Gibbons’ versatility will be a major asset for the Championship side.
Ward said: “Fionn is a strong player. He offers versatility with an ability to play twelve, thirteen, and wing.
“We spoke to Munster and they highly recommended Fionn to us. We were excited by his game footage and we hope to give him increased game time and see what he can do.
“When we signed Scott Buckley from Munster a few seasons ago, he started in a similar position to Fionn. Since then, Scott has really kicked on for us and I hope that Fionn will have a similar journey as an Ealing Trailfinder.”
