Zamora rejects contract offer from QPR

Bobby Zamora has rejected a contract offer from QPR.

Talks are continuing with the 33-year-old striker, who was offered a one-year deal on significantly reduced wages.

Zamora has struggled for fitness and form since being signed from neighbours Fulham in January 2012 and Rangers planned to release him when his contract expired this summer.

But he became an unlikely hero by scoring a dramatic winner in the play-off final in May to take the club back to the Premier League.

His last-minute strike against Derby at Wembley was Zamora’s ninth goal in 52 league appearances for the R’s.

Out-of-contract goalkeeper Rob Green has also been offered a new deal, while Clint Hill, Alejandro Faurlin and Armand Traore have re-signed.
