QPR boss keen for Gubbins to get maximum game time

Mark Warburton is keen for youngster Joe Gubbins to continue playing for QPR’s development side during his time out on loan.

The defender, 19, recently joined non-League Oxford City on a two-month loan deal.

He featured for Rangers’ Under-23s in a game against Barnsley this week.

“He can do that at that age and we’re just trying to give him vital experience,” said Rangers manager Warburton.

“They have to go out and play games. It’s such a massive part of their development and education.

“If you miss it there’s always going to a hole in there somewhere. We want to get as much into him as possible.”

Meanwhile, Warburton has insisted that contract talks with Bright Osayi-Samuel are “moving the right way” despite speculation over the winger’s future.
