Warburton insists QPR deserved their luck against Millwall

Mark Warburton insisted QPR deserved their slice of luck against Millwall.

Rangers won 2-1 at The Den, where Nahki Wells restored their lead with a simple tap-in following a mistake by Lions keeper Bartosz Białkowski.

It gave Warburton’s side a fourth consecutive league win and took them up to fourth in the table.

Although there was a touch of good fortune about the winning goal – Wells’ second of the game and sixth of the season – Warburton had no doubt Rangers were the better team.

Wells has been in great form for Rangers

And the manager also pointed to matches this season in which they had played well without getting points.

He said: “You earn your luck. We’ve also given soft goals away in recent games and that’s the nature of the league. You hope over the course of a season they even themselves up.

“We played good football last week, looked really dangerous and could have scored a hatful.

“Today was a different test, a different challenge, and one we had to stand up to.”

The result means a win against West Brom in next Saturday’s early kick-off would put QPR top of the Championship until at least other teams play later in the day.
