Ian Holloway praised his players after the win against Sheffield United and hit back at recent reports his future at QPR was in doubt.

Idrissa Sylla scored the winner as Holloway celebrated his 300th game as Rangers manager with a second home victory in three days.

It followed Saturday’s beating of Wolves, prior to which the R’s had failed to win in seven matches and a newspaper report claimed Holloway was close to being sacked.

“You do your best for your team and then get up on a Sunday morning and read a load of tripe,” he said.

“I knew this (an improvement) was happening, as did anyone who watched the team, because we’d been playing well. This division is so tough, but don’t write us off.

“We’re looking to bring the club together and my lads feel really good about themselves.

“It was a big win and we needed it. We had a big win as well against Wolves on Saturday and now let’s see if we can get that first away win.

“I’m very, very proud of my players. My senior pros at the moment are leading the way.

“It feels great. It’s so important to find that buzz and the fans are starting to trust their team.”
