Thomas edging towards QPR return

QPR are hopeful George Thomas will be ready to return to action soon.

Summer signing Thomas has been nursing a thigh problem and has not featured since the 1-1 draw against Middlesbrough a month ago.

Rangers boss Mark Warburton said: “He’s now on the grass running and working very hard to get back in. That’s good to see.

“He’s probably a couple of weeks away. His injury was quite a nasty one.

“It’s one of those injuries that takes some time and during a period like this if you have a 10-day injury you could miss three games.”

Warburton is hoping that Thomas can fill the void left by Luke Amos, who is likely to miss the rest of the season with a knee injury.

Amos had been operating in the advanced midfield role Thomas could now slot into.

“We’ve certainly missed George,” Warburton said.

“We’ve lost Luke Amos to a very unfortunate injury but we hopefully welcome George back in the coming days.”
