QPR must sign striker, says Gallen

Kevin Gallen insists it is essential that QPR sign a striker before the transfer window closes.

Lyndon Dykes’ recent absence with a knee injury has underlined the club’s lack of attacking options.

And former R’s forward Gallen believes strengthening that area must be a priority ahead of the transfer deadline.

Speaking on on the West London Sport podcast, Gallen said: “It’s a major problem with Lyndon Dykes injured.

“I’ve said for years about the lack of strikers at the club. Lyndon Dykes is injured and now we’re now relying on Sinclair Armstrong at 20 years old.

“The recruitment there – that’s just very poor that we haven’t got another senior striker at the club.

“They’ve got two weeks now to get one in, because if Lyndon Dykes gets injured – is he going to be fit the whole season? – that (lack of strikers) needs to be rectified quickly.”

Gallen was joined by West London Sport’s Ian McCullough and Ben Kosky.

They also discussed Saturday’s defeat by Ipswich, the futures of Chris Willock and Ilias Chair, and an apparent lack of fitness among Rangers players.
