Harry Redknapp has launched an astonishing attack on Adel Taarabt.
The QPR manager has publicly criticised Taarabt on a number of occasions and gave his most damning assessment of him yet after the 3-2 defeat against Liverpool.
Taarabt was left out of the matchday squad for the game, with Redknapp once again indicating that the Moroccan is unfit and refusing to train properly.
Redknapp said: “He’s not fit to play football. He’s about three stone overweight. He played in a reserve game and I could have run about more than he did.
“I pick people who want to train and want to come in every day and work and play for a good club like QPR. When he starts doing that – whether he can do it – he’ll get a game.
“I can’t keep protecting people. What am I supposed to say, ‘keep getting your £60,000 or £70,000 a week and don’t train’?”

Redknapp is hard to watch in press conferences as along with anything interesting or vaguely insightful you get a whole lot of exaggerated nonsense and oft re-used "fantastic/terrific" cliches.
Sure a journalist asked him about Taarabt - but how about not answering a question of minimal relevance and little importance to the game that had just happened.
@rangers1882 Thanks for saying that. I only saw the last 40 mins but Philips was ridiculously bad and has been generally this season that I've seen. Gave the ball away every time. Surely Taarabt would not be as bad, even with a burger in one hand and milkshake in the other. Fer is not deserving of the No 10 jersey. Harry replaces one has-been at CB with another. Well sick of the manager at this stage. Bad-mouthing some players while praising dross like Ferdinand to the hilt. Talk about having favorites. Harry is such a joke. Team plays well in spite of him, awful selection today and yet who does it benefit to slate a guy not even in the squad. Taarabt could play at 5% fit yet no way in hell miss that chance Fer did in the first half, or put in that diabolical free kick that costs us the game. Yet Adel gets slated after. Just don't get it, Harry is such a condascending, hypocritical idiot.
Why has the club put up with this lazy idiot this long. I have been a manager of people all my working and sporting life and would not allow myself and boss to be abused this way. No work no pay. Put it in EVERY contract even Ronaldo s .
