Smithies named QPR’s player of the year

Alex Smithies has been named QPR’s player of the year.

The goalkeeper won the Supporters’ Player of the Year, Ray Jones Players’ Player of the Year and Junior Hoops Player of the Year awards.

Ryan Manning has won the Daphne Biggs Supporters’ Young Player of the Year award.

“It’s nice to get some sort of recognition for the work you’ve been doing all season, so I’m really delighted to win all three awards,” Smithies told the club’s website.

Meanwhile, Dave Thomas, editor of the magazine A Kick Up The R’s, which he founded 30 years ago, has been named supporter of the year.
