Macauley Bonne scored a last-gasp equaliser on his debut to rescue a point for QPR.

Sheffield Wednesday went ahead through Yoann Barbet’s own goal nine minutes into the second half.

But Barbet atoned by delivering an injury-time cross from the left for striker Bonne to head home.

Rangers defended well until being undone by a clever ball by Barry Bannan.

Bannan’s chipped pass set up Adam Reach on the left and the resulting low cross was turned into the net by Barbet as the defender tried to prevent Josh Windass scoring.

QPR had almost gone ahead in the first half when Geoff Cameron flicked Ilias Chair’s right-wing corner against the inside of the far post.

Rangers boss Mark Warburton reacted to the goal by sending on Bonne, who completed a move from Charlton on Friday.

And Bonne made a dream start to his R’s career by scoring with just seconds remaining.

It came shortly after former QPR midfielder Massimo Luongo almost added a late second for Wednesday when he fired against the bar.
