QPR boss upbeat ahead of derby clash

QPR manager Harry Redknapp insists his team will go into Monday’s west London derby against Fulham full of confidence despite their perilous position.

Reading’s defeat at Arsenal meant Rangers moved off the bottom of the Premier League on Saturday without playing a game.

However, they are seven points adrift of 17th-placed Wigan with only eight matches to save themselves from the drop.

But Redknapp said: “We’re playing well and are in good form. If we were playing badly then I’d feel differently.

“We had an unbeaten run of five games, then we had two wins, and even though we lost at Aston Villa we played well.

“I’m not thinking about going down because I still believe we can stay up. We are capable of winning at least four of our remaining games.”

He added: “At Fulham there will be a great atmosphere and there will be a lot of QPR fans there.

“It was the same at Chelsea and we went there and won, and we need to do the same at Fulham.”
