Rangers star gets new contract

Jamie Mackie has been rewarded for his contribution to QPR’s Premier League survival with a one-year contract extension.

The 26-year-old forward scored eight goals this season and his new deal keeps him at Loftus Road until 2015.

Mackie was given the contract following a meeting between manager Mark Hughes and board members on Tuesday.

The futures of several players, including skipper Joey Barton, were discussed.

It was also decided that defender Clint Hill would be offered a new deal.
