Rangers sign midfielder Sandro from Spurs

QPR have completed the signing of midfielder Sandro from Tottenham.

He has signed a three-year contract and Rangers have paid an initial £6m for the Brazil international, although possible future payments mean the transfer could end up being worth considerably more.

Earlier on a typically frenetic transfer deadline day at the club, West London Sport revealed that Rangers had made Spurs an offer for Sandro, 25, and subsequently that the bid had been accepted.

At White Hart Lane he played under Rangers boss Harry Redknapp, who signed him from Internacional in 2010.

QPR also looked into a deal to sign former Spurs striker Jermain Defoe but Toronto FC were unwilling to let him go.
