Ramsey again critical of QPR’s defending after defeat

Chris Ramsey was again critical of QPR’s defending after their 2-1 defeat at home to Nottingham Forest.

Rangers, who have now conceded two goals in six of their eight matches this season, went ahead through Charlie Austin’s second-half goal.

But it all went wrong for them when Rob Green failed to deal with Nedum Onuoha’s back-pass and pulled down Chris O’Grady.

The keeper was sent off, Henri Lansbury drilled home the resulting penalty, and Forest then went ahead through Nelson Oliveira’s goal.

Head coach Ramsey said: “I thought the back-pass was poor and Rob made a decision, thought he could deal with it and unfortunately the guy [O’Grady] did well to keep running at him and cause him to bring him down.

“Then for the winning goal I thought we could have defended that better. That goal wasn’t down to us being down to 10 men, that was poor defensive play.

“It’s very disappointing. At the time we had 11 players on the field I thought there was only going to be one winner. We were playing well at that stage.

“But disappointments happen and you have to deal with them during the game. Unfortunately we didn’t manage to keep them out.

“I thought we were going on to score more goals. But we went down to 10 men and didn’t cope with it as well as I would have liked us to, to be honest.”

Ramsey’s side are next in action on Wednesday, when they host Blackburn.

  • RAMSEY SAYS THE SAME AFTER WE LET IN GOALS WHY DONT YOU CHANGE SOME OF THE CULPRITS HERES 3 HENRY PERCH KANCHELSKY CHANGE THEM DONT MOAN ABOUT THEM YOU GOT A SQUAD USE THEM RAMSEY

  • RAMSEY makes excuses the problems that see are HENRY he never featured in the first half and even less in the second when we needed more from him as a midfielder and down to 10 and why take off a forward midfielder for the GREEN you need the defense to work harder and keep the strike force at the same strength no weaken it, as HENRY was having his usual game (ball watching) he should of been the sub and hope the strikers can score, look at the possession ratings that tells it own story about our midfield 30% 70%
as for GREEN in the 1st half we had seen 2 back passes to GREEN that should not of been and Green fumbled them not expecting it.the main reason for a long back pass is that there is no midfielder there to take the ball from the defender.Move on RAMSEY lets see some pace in the middle
    GOOD LUCK RS

  • Shame our players have been on international duties....!!! Would have been able to work on defensive play and taught how to pass to a team mate
