QPR’s friendly against Monaco in doubt

QPR’s second pre-season friendly in Italy is in doubt after club officials raised concerns about the state of the pitch.

Chris Ramsey’s side are due to play Monaco on Tuesday evening at the Novarello Training Centre, where the surface has been seriously affected by extremely hot weather.

Rangers believe playing on the hard surface could put their players at risk of injury and Monaco are understood to have similar misgivings.

And with no alternative venue nearby seemingly available, QPR have been left to consider their options.

They were forced into a late change of opponents and venue after Shakhtar Donetsk pulled out of planned friendly on Saturday, leaving Rangers to hastily arrange a match against Verona Stars.

  • Spare a thought for those of us who have travelled. However, would not want any risk of injury.

  • Sorry to hear the tour seems to be having problems.
I am sure the change of scenery and cuisine will be beneficial.
Let's hope a few teams can honour their obligations to QPR and give them a run out.
    GVS.
