Field to play in QPR B-team game

QPR midfielder Sam Field will step up his push for a return to the first team in a B-team match at Huddersfield on Wednesday.

Field, whose impressive performances in the second half of last season while on loan from West Brom earned him a permanent move in the summer, has not played at all this campaign after suffering a knee injury during a training a pre-season training session.

He played 45 minutes against Bristol City in an Under-23s match last week and will look to play at least an hour against the Terriers.

But Rangers are likely to be without Sam McCallum for a significant period of time.

McCallum, on loan from Norwich, reinjured his hamstring during Friday’s 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest.
