QPR youngster Joe Gubbins has agreed terms on a new three-year deal with the club.

The 19-year-old, who joined Rangers from Southampton in 2017, is currently on loan with National League South side Oxford City.

The Oxford-born centre-back has signed until 2023, with the option of a further year.

Gubbins made his Championship debut in the final match of last season when he appeared as a late substitute against West Bromwich Albion and credited the QPR coaching staff for helping him earn his first long-term contract.

“Chris Ramsey, Paul Furlong, Paul Hall and Andy Impey have all been brilliant, and I have said to them that they have been the best coaches I have ever had,” Gubbins told the QPR website.

“The manager has put faith in me by promoting me to the first team and that has given me such a lift, and Neil (Banfield) and John Eustace have been fantastic too. I can’t thank them all enough.”
