QPR forward Reece Grego-Cox scored a hat-trick for the Republic of Ireland’s Under-21 side as they beat Israel 4-0 in Dublin.

Grego-Cox opened the scoring in the first minute of the European Under-21 Championship qualifier, slotting home from close range after being teed up by a low cross from his R’s team-mate Ryan Manning.

Everton’s Harry Charsley doubled the lead before Grego-Cox netted from the penalty spot eight minutes before half-time.

And the Hammersmith-born 20-year-old struck again five minutes into the second half, completing his hat-trick and a resounding Irish win.

Earlier on Monday, another Irish Under-21 international, Olamide Shodipo, scored on his return from injury.

Shodipo’s goal gave QPR’s development side 1-0 win against Coventry at Loftus Road, where Grant Hall also returned to action.
