QPR winger Dembele close to return to training

Julien Stephan expects QPR winger Karamoko Dembele to return to full training soon following a long-term knee injury.

Dembele has been sidelined since suffering anterior cruciate ligament damage in January.

He recently began light training and head coach Stephan is pleased with the player’s progress.

The Frenchman said: “(He is) close to coming back (training) with us – at the beginning with some adapted sessions, but I hope as well quickly with the full sessions.

“I don’t want to say he’s close to playing in competition, because that’s another step, but (he’s) in a good direction for sure.

“He’s really confident – really confident in the fact that he can quickly train. He’s very positive, the staff members are positive, so just to define now clearly the situation for the next few weeks.”
