QPR will take no risks with Dunne, says Stephan
Julien Stephan says QPR will not take any risks with captain Jimmy Dunne’s fitness during the final weeks of the season.
Dunne sat out Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Bristol City at Loftus Road.
The defender will be assessed ahead of this weekend’s London derby against Millwall.
Head coach Stephan said: “It’s just a little issue. It’s not a moment in the season to take any risks.
“We will see in the next days how the situation evolves. But it’s not a moment to take any risks.”
Koki Saito also missed Saturday’s game.
“It’s the same thing as Jimmy. Just a little issue and we didn’t want to take any risks with him,” said Stephan.
“Let’s see how the situation with him evolves in the next days. But it’s not a big issue, just a little thing.”
Dunne’s absence meant a starting place for the injury-plagued Jake Clarke-Salter, who completed a full match for the first time since January 2025.
“It was a good surprise. We weren’t sure he was able to play the full 90 minutes, but he did and that was a very good surprise for us,” said Stephan.
“We want to use the last part of the season to give him the minutes that he needs, to rebuild him physically and to have more confidence for the future.”
