QPR sign Ngbakoto in £1.5m deal

QPR have clinched the signing of winger Yeni Ngbakoto from French club Metz for around £1.5m.

Ngbakoto, 24, has signed a three-year contract at Loftus Road despite late approach from Wolves.

The Midlands club are looking to spend heavily following a recent takeover by a Chinese group and this week gazumped Rangers to sign Iceland forward Jon Dadi Bodvarsson.

This time though it went QPR’s way, with Ngbakoto telling them on Saturday afternoon that he had decided to join them.

Rangers spent weeks negotiating a deal with Metz, increasing their offer before eventually being given the green light to talk to the player.

  • This seems to be the only paper stating that Bodvarsson went to Wolves for 2.7 million. Wolves spent 1 million on him. He just preferred the Wolves!

Scored a brilliant goal yesterday and MOM.

  • A bit rich coming from a team that just paid 2.7 million for a player that qpr had agreed a fee of 1million for

  • John you sad person, bitter are we.we shall see what happens when we play you.

  • Unfortunately this "story" is nonsense. Wolves had no desire to sign this player and it appears to have been a story manufactured by local media in the south east to assuage feelings around negotiations relating to a different player.

  • May be a decent signing we need a striker now done some good buisness already strengthened defence and midfield now a striker needed should have a look at lee gregory of millwall scored 24 last season a step up to the championship maybe what he needs.

  • Numpty
Why would he drop down 2 divisions next season and go to wolves
After helping the Rs to win promotion ???
When he's signed a 3 year deal at the mighty QPR

  • He would have only been a bench warmer at the Wolves with the wingers we have plus Graham to come back, £1.5 million for a bench warmer is a bit much, never mind he will like it in league 1 next season.
