QPR wait for news on Madsen injury and Poku appears close to return

Julien Stephan says QPR expect to know more about the extent of Nicolas Madsen’s hamstring injury next week.

Madsen, a standout performer for Rangers this season, limped off during this week’s 5-0 defeat at Southampton.

He will miss Saturday’s home match against Sheffield United.

Head coach Stephan explained: “It’s a hamstring injury and we will know next week how long. But he is definitely out tomorrow.”

Meanwhile, Kwame Poku, who has been out since early January, also with a hamstring injury, is expected to train next week and could be available for next Sunday’s game against Middlesbrough.

“I think he will train next week and perhaps we can imagine he will be involved with the 20 players for the next game, if all goes well next week,” said Stephan.

Ilias Chair is still unavailable and Rangers are unsure when he might return.
