QPR v Huddersfield player ratings

QPR are just five points above the relegation zone after losing against Huddersfield. Here’s how we rated each Rangers player in the 2-1 defeat.

Alex Smithies: 6

Beaten by two fine strikes against his former club. Otherwise had fairly little to do.

Nedum Onuoha: 7

An improvement on recent performances. The Rangers skipper won plenty of challenges in a determined display.

James Perch: 6

Never completely convincing in his central role. Even less so on the occasions he ventured forward.

Jake Bidwell: 6

Generally not too bad, but had a poor spell during the all-important first-half period in which Huddersfield took control.

Pawel Wszolek: 6

Always willing to work, but the quality is not there at the moment.

Massimo Luongo: 5

Not a good performance. Failed to make an impact as his fellow Australian Aaron Mooy dominated in midfield.

Grant Hall: 5

Another player unable to impose himself in the middle of the pitch, although he did create a first-half chance for Conor Washington.

Ryan Manning: 6

Made mistakes on and particularly off the ball, but was always competitive and the occasional clever pass created openings.

Jamie Mackie: 6

Covered plenty of ground but it was a case of quantity over quality.

Conor Washington: 6

Lively in spells. Unlucky not to score in the first half and created a good chance for Matt Smith in the second.

Matt Smith: 6

Did what he was brought in to do, which is to offer an aerial presence and look to link up with Washington.

Luke Freeman: 7

Certainly made an impact after coming on, scoring with a cracking strike and causing Huddersfield’s defence some problems with his trickery.

Kazenga LuaLua: 7

Also helped bring Rangers back into the game after coming on. His cross led to their goal.

  • Shona, are you serious, i wonder how you would feel if your boss stopped your wages for bad performance. QPR played poor in the first half but the second half they were great, loved the spirit

  • i never expected them to beat Huddersfield im sure somewhere there is a decent midfield but we lack goalscorers and defensively we are poor and thats why we have the worst goal difference apart from Rotherham

  • unable to get to game but we need to get the players to start winning stop the wages then they will stat winning
