QPR endured a frustrating goalless draw with Bolton in their first home match of the Championship season. Here’s how we rated each Rangers player.

Pierce Charles: 6

Was barely tested as QPR dominated. Again showed off his impressive distribution.

Amadou Mbengue: 7

Tireless on the right and created a good chance for Richard Kone, who could not find a way past keeper Jack Bonham.

Jimmy Dunne: 6

Steady at the back and a threat from attacking set-pieces.

Jake Clarke-Salter: 6

Able to coast through a game in which the visitors offered limited attacking threat.

Kealey Adamson: 7

Continued where he left off at Portsmouth, with a more than credible performance as a makeshift left-back. He was determined in the tackle and his choices on the ball were very sound.

Ronnie Edwards: 6

Again did a job in midfield. Supported the more attacking Harvey Vale well and also popped up in the final third, including when he helped set up one of Kone’s chances.

Harvey Vale: 6

Had an early strike tipped over by Bonham, put Kone through on goal, and was lively in spells. But missed a sitter when he headed straight at Bonham in the second half.

Kwame Poku: 6

A threat at times and is exciting to watch when cutting in from the left. Failed to come up with a pass to Kone, who was unmarked in the box, but in light of the game his team-mate was having, perhaps it was an understandable decision.

Ilias Chair: 7

His early-season form after his injury problems is hugely encouraging. He looked confident and sharp as he linked play nicely, attacked defenders and was always keen to get on the ball. Set up one of Kone’s chances.

Koki Saito: 7

Also lively. Set up a chance for Kone and was always offering a useful outlet on the left. And Rangers should have been awarded a penalty when he was upended in the box.

Richard Kone: 5

Oh dear. One of those days for the striker, who missed key chances – a couple of which were real sitters.

Nicolas Madsen: 7

Keen to get on the ball after his second-half introduction and added some quality, but as a team Rangers went off the boil somewhat.

Rumarn Burrell: 6

Replaced the hapless Kone but Rangers did not manage to create a significant chance for him.

Tariq Lamptey: 7

Pacy and energetic after coming on – some great signs he might be able to return to form after his injury woes.

Dennis Cirkin: 7

Also looked surprisingly spritely despite a lack of match action. Rangers could have a couple of outstanding full-backs on their hands.

Paul Smyth: 6

A later introduction but was heavily involved, seeing an effort saved and posing a problem for Bolton on the left in the final stages
