Barton expected to overcome minor injury

Joey Barton is expected to recover from a minor injury in time for QPR’s visit to Manchester United.

The midfielder has been nursing a slight hamstring strain but looks likely to travel with the rest of the squad to Old Trafford for Sunday’s game.

Rangers boss Harry Redknapp explained: “We’ve got one or two knocks. Joey Barton has a hamstring and one or two others we won’t know about until tomorrow.”

Sandro, signed from Tottenham on deadline day, is in line for his debut, while fellow recent arrival Eduardo Vargas will also be named in the squad.

Chile forward Vargas, who was due to train with his new team-mates on Friday, had to wait for a visa to be issued following his season-long loan move from Napoli and has since been away on international duty.

  • I'd be happy to take a point.

Utd will be dangerous and buoyed by their new signings playing in front of their home fans, they will be desperate for a win. Their defence is poor though, so they are vulnerable to being caught on the counter with pace.

I captained Rooney instead of Costa in my fantasy team but I'd gladly take a Rooney fail this afternoon. Heart says 1-1 but head says 2-0 Utd.

  • Who can predict the result of Sunday's game with so many strangers on the pitch. Everyone says Man U to win because it's Man U, but a totally different and untried side since Fergie's days.
Some people have said that QPR's performance at Spurs is a measure of their EPL potential, but it was a clear indication of no cohesion and lack of pace in the Premier League.
Man U could face the same difficulties, while QPR are overcoming theirs. I have no predictions - enjoy the match!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
