QPR seeking talks with striker Remy

QPR boss Harry Redknapp has reiterated his call for Loic Remy to make a decision on his future sooner rather than later.

The France striker, who recently saw a move to Liverpool collapse, played in Rangers’ opening-day defeat at home to Hull despite having not featured in any pre-season matches.

Under the terms of his £8m move to Loftus Road from Marseille in January last year, Remy can leave for the same amount if a top-four club comes in for him.

Redknapp believes the player’s good relationship with chairman Tony Fernandes means Remy would think twice about leaving close to the transfer deadline and potentially leaving Rangers in the lurch.

But the uncertainty of the situation is a problem for the club as the final stages of the transfer window approach.

And Redknapp said: “We need to know pretty soon because I wouldn’t want to get to the end of the window and lose him. That would be a big problem.

“If he’s going to stay then we need to sit down and get a commitment that he’s going to stay with us. I’d like him to stay. His attitude has been first class.”
