QPR reject approach from Forest for Lumley

QPR have rejected an approach from Nottingham Forest for Joe Lumley.

Forest asked about taking the goalkeeper on loan for the rest of the season.

That did not appeal to Rangers, as his contract expires in the summer and the club would rather sell him or keep Lumley as cover for Seny Dieng.

A return to Doncaster, where Lumley had been on loan, was blocked after Motherwell came in for keeper Liam Kelly, who was loaned to the Scottish side.

QPR were therefore not interested in a pre-deadline loan move for Lumley, who was ousted as their first-choice keeper by Dieng in September.

Lumley, who turns 26 later this month, has made 74 league appearances for the R’s.
