Rangers discussing new contracts for trio

QPR are in talks with the representatives of Clint Hill, Rob Green and Alejandro Faurlin.

The contracts of all three players expire this summer and Rangers are set to offer them new deals, with Hill keen to land a coaching role at Loftus Road.

Bobby Zamora, scorer of the last-minute winner in the play-off final against Derby that took Rangers up, is also out of contract this summer, as are Gary O’Neil and Armand Traore.

Goalkeeper Green, 34, was a consistent performer for Rangers as they won promotion back to the Premier League.

Fans favourite Faurlin, 27, had his campaign ended in November by a long-term knee injury – his second in less than two years – and the club’s owners want him to re-sign.

Meanwhile, Rangers have missed out on the signing of Steve Sidwell, who has agreed a move to Stoke.

The midfielder, 31, a free agent after being released by Fulham, was one of QPR manager Harry Redknapp’s transfer targets.

But Stoke’s former Whites boss Mark Hughes, who brought Sidwell to Craven Cottage from Aston Villa in 2011, persuaded him to join the Potters.
