QPR midfielder Field enjoying new role

QPR midfielder Sam Field says he is enjoying playing in a more advanced role under new head coach Mick Beale.

The 24-year-old impressed as a holding midfielder under former boss Mark Warburton last season.

But Beale is keen for him to get forward more,

“I’m really enjoying it, getting to express that side of my game,” Field said. .

“It’s still something I need to work on, but I’m enjoying it.

“Whatever he wants from me I’m happy to give it a go. I think it probably makes me a better player and it helps the team.

“I did feel like I had to sit a lot (last season). I love that side of the game, it’s not a problem, but you don’t want to just pigeon hole yourself as a holding (midfielder).

“I want to show I can do all sides of the game, so it’s just something to add to it and this manager really wants me to work on it so I’m happy to work on it and happy to improve on it.”
