Hall says injury was his ‘lowest point’

QPR’s Grant Hall has admitted the ongoing knee injury that kept him sidelined for eight months was “the lowest point” of his career.

The 26-year-old defender finally returned to action as a late substitute in Rangers’ 3-1 defeat against Leeds last weekend.

Until recently, however, there were concerns that he might need an operation to fix the problem – which would have ruled him out for the rest of the season.

Hall said: “It was a complex injury – some days you feel good with it, some days you feel bad and that was frustrating for me.

“There was a certain time frame I knew I was going to be out for, but not knowing was the worst thing. Mentally it was the biggest test for me.

“It was hard to deal with and I had a lot of bad days. Going through that was the lowest point of my career, but I’ve overcome that now.”

Hall’s return to the fold is a timely one for Rangers, who have slid to 19th in the Championship table after taking just one point from their last six games.

“We went through this last year – we lost six games, then went on an unbeaten run and then did the same again,” said Hall.

“There are plenty of games left to turn it around. We’re not even halfway through the season and hopefully over the Christmas period we can put a few results together and push up the table.”
