Wheeler and Leistner feature in QPR friendly

QPR: Harlington training ground

David Wheeler and new signing Toni Leistner featured as QPR drew 3-3 with Charlton in a pre-season friendly.

Wheeler, out since December because of a back injury, played the first half of the game at Rangers’ Harlington training ground.

So too did Leistner – the German centre-back’s first outing since his recent move to west London.

Ebere Eze, Conor Washington and Alex Baptiste scored for Rangers, who were behind three times.

Grant Hall, back in training after missing most of last season with a knee injury, was not involved in the game.

Neither was Massimo Luongo, who was part of Australia’s World Cup squad.

First-half team: Lumley, Furlong, Leistner, Phillips, Hamalainen, Scowen, Chair, Eze, Wheeler, Smith, Bright-Samuel.
Second-half team: Ingram, Kakay, Baptiste, Bidwell, Manning, Owens, Freeman, Cousins, Wszolek, Sylla, Washington.
