QPR skipper hails ‘sensational’ Robinson

Jack Robinson’s adjustment to a central defensive role has been labelled “sensational” by QPR captain Nedum Onuoha.

Robinson, who has spent the vast majority of his career at left-back, was shifted into the centre of Rangers’ back line following their recent injury crisis.

And the 24-year-old’s performances have caught the eye of Onuoha – who, along with Grant Hall and James Perch, is one of Rangers’ long-term injury absentees.

“I’ve been impressed – they’ve all played well,” Onuoha said. “But, seeing them on a day to day basis, I sort of expected it as well.

“Any of those people that gets put into the side, I think they understand their role. Sometimes if you’re not playing week in, week out, it can get quite difficult.

“But with the mentality of someone like Jack Robinson, he’s studied what’s required of him within this side, he’s come in and, for me, he’s been sensational.

“There are not vast differences between the two positions. It’s subtle things but I think if, at your core, you love to defend – as Jack does – the difference isn’t too great.”
